Whats Up In November 2009

Well, we are on our third good snow

and loving it!
Making our way out to the barn
is a little harder with snow.

Jaden and the rest of the grand kids are
way better at the old Pachinco game
than the grandparents.

We are thrilled that our friend Linda.
from Denmark, is back for a couple of months.
She is riding the horses, as well as the wagon,
and the horses are ecstatic about it!

Rich and Penni came for a visit.
Rich went to the Broncos game with me
and that's all I will say about that.
The four of us went to Colorado Springs also.

We stayed at the Broadmoor and had a ball.
Linda and I had stayed there for our
our 40th anniversary.

Beau's uncle Jack had recommended it to Rich,
so we put a night at the Broadmoor on
our itinerary.

The grounds are extraordinary.

I is a great place just to 'hang' and Rich and I

are great at just hanging.

Every inch of the interior

is gorgious.

Of course it is way out of our league,

but it was fun to see how the other

one-percent live.

Our tradition is to take a 'bed picture',

when we vacation together.

But no sleep overs.

We did something that none of us knew was possible.

We went to the zoo without kids.

Really-really fun!

We loved the giraffes.

And what can I say about that tongue?

This was Penni's favorite little guy.

And I took this picture for Jaden.

He has his own pet toad named Prince.

We had a great day at the zoo.

We also took a drive through the

Garden of the Gods

and saw this rock which was about to fall on us.

We had lunch at Arrowhead Golf Club

close to our house.

It is a breath-taking experience.

The next night we ate at the Fort.

The Fort is one of Denver's finest restaurants.

It even has a heliport for guests who want to fly in.

The Fort serves many specialty items.

Penni tried some Elk, Buffalo and Quail.

She, Rich and I shared some

Diamond-back Rattlesnake.

Yummy!

We had a great time hanging (again) around the ranch.

No horse back riding this time, or snowmobiles.

But, Penni found she was good at golf cart

driving and wants one for her grand kids.

Our friend Pete also flew in from California

for the Bronco game.

We loved seeing Pete, but that is all

I have to say about the Bronco game!!!

Well Winter is officially here....... and we love it.
We didn't BBQ on this day.

Go Brrrrrr Broncos!

Taylor's friend Nathan is an undefeated amateur boxer.

Taylor, Jaden and I had a great time watching

him Whip his opponent.

Kate and Johns little Lou is a lot bigger than this now.

Savannah is a High School Cheerleader this year.

Go Grizzlies!!!!!!

Taylor is off to school and I am sure

some day will rule the world.

Jenny took Savannah and Hannah to visit the

great-grandparents.

We had a wonderful celebration for mom's

89 th birthday.

Kyle and Lauren tied the knot.

Their wedding was beautiful.

As you probably know by now we lost Micah

this year after a long seven year struggle.

He is with the Lord now but will forever

be in our hearts and his memory

will live forever.

Greta is just being Greta....... out hunting a rabbit to

chase.

It was a good Spring, Summer and Fall which made

it green around here and the trees flourished.

Our friend Nils bought this Chevy here

and then trailered it back to Calif.

It enjoyed its visit with my tractor... they are both 1951's

At the time this picture was taken our friend Linda

from Denmark was about to go home after

being here for 2 years.

She was on her final ride with Dandy.

And, gave Cochise a final spin.

But, after being back in Denmark for a short while

she was able to return here for a couple of months

before having to go back home and school.

This was a BIG and WONDERFUL surprise for us....

and the horses.

Marie was our neighbor's Au Pair from Germany

and while here she rode Cochise.

Marie became a good rider during her year here.

Unfortunately she had to return to Germany

to attend nursing school.

As you can imagine we love the beauty of our

hawks. They are magnificent. This one has

lunch in his beak.

We had a wonder visit with Christian and his family.

They are a part of our family.

The kids all enjoy each other and had fun.

As usual the golf cart rides were popular.

Savannah took her friend with us on a trip to

Steamboat Springs for a few days.

Greta was into the whole gondola thing.

I think she thinks she is a rescue dog or something.

We had a great visit with the family and friends

while in California.

Kelsy got a new Red bicycle. It was too cool and

everyone, except me, took it for a shake down spin.

We are blessed with a wonderful family and a big

part of what makes it so special are these two.

During the Spring and Summer Linda and I

dust off our 1968 Dodge and do a little

cruising and attend some car shows.

One of our favorites is the Golden Colorado 1 st

Sat. of the month cruise.

It is very casual, but with hundreds of the best

cars you will ever see. It is one of Greta's

favorite outings. Actually she gets more

attention than our car. ha

We took Hannah, Nicolette and Jaden on a road trip

this summer.

We went down to Utah and stayed with Steve for

a few days and then with Ronna for a couple of days.

The kids had a ball with their uncle Steve.

He took them fishing and cooked them the

best meal they ever had.

The smiles and laughter were everywhere.

It was huge gathering of cousins.

Wow, where did they all come from?

One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to

the Winter Olympics Museum and training

facility.

The athletes practice their ski jumps in the pool.

The museum was very impressive.

The Alpine slide was a big hit.

Taylor and Nic took a trip to New York to

see the sights and pick up their new doggie.

Nicolette picked out the love of her life and named her

Jewel.

We can report now, a few months later that Jewel is

10 times this size and Nic has done a wonderful job

taking care of her and training her.
