Nice cast!

Ending 2009 and Begining 2010

In case you have not heard Craig and Deni
are moving to the Upper East Side of New York.
Actually they already have a apartment and
Deni has been there for over a month. He is now
Director of Rooms at the brand new Andaz Hotel.
Craig is headed there on the 31st. He got a
transfer with Restoration Hardware and looking
forward to the new and big challenge.
We have been really lucky to spend more time with
Craig before he moves and he has been hanging
with his nieces and nephew.

He was a natural on the ol' snowmobile.

Speaking of natural snowmobilers...... go Linda.

Craig and Jaden always have fun together.

But, that applies to Nicolette too.

We are all going to miss his smile and support.
Hannah picked him as her favorite here at
our house the other night. I came in right after
the last Walk On Horse Ranch animal.
And here is my favorite snow bunny.
Winter is our favorite time of year.
Not so much for the horses.
Nic is growing into such a beautiful you lady.

Slow down Speed Racer.

Another one of our great sunsets.

We love the sunsets year around, but when the
snow is on the ground they are even more spectacular.

Taylor texted me this picture while he was in
Pittsburgh watching the Steelers v. Broncos.
Well we will say no more.
We had a wonderful Christmas.

Christmas is such a exciting family time together.
Taylor and Kim had us all to their home for dinner.
Her mother and dad were there as were her
sister and her family. We loved it.
Of course Linda's mother was there and we all
got a big kick out of the children.
Linda got a very-very cool present. It is a puzzle, that
when finished is this picture of Nic and Jaden.
SWEET!

45th Anniversary in Kauai

First we have to thank Deni, Craig and their friend
Matt for such great accommodations at the
Grand Hyatt Resort & Spa.
Matt is the Executive Assistant Manger Rooms Director.
When you walk in the lobby you see
clear through the lobby to the ocean.
And, this is what you see from the other side.
Most beautiful lobby we have seen.

Once we saw the hotel we decided we would
spend the whole nine days there and
not go out.

My bride the day before our 45th, she looks
right at home here in Kauai.

We were sorry we didn't bring our
parrot, he would have loved it here.

He might have been a little out classed, but
would have fallen in love I am sure.

This and the next picture are for
John Jordan.
He use to give us his beautiful cast-offs for our pond in Calif.

The views were always this beautiful
from the hotel no matter which way
you looked or where you where.
This one of the views was from our room.

There were no structured swimming pools
They all just as if you were stepping from
a natural place into water.
Even the 'beach' pool was totally natural
looking and feeling.

Ah, Linda is going to give us a tour of
our room (upgraded to a suite by Matt)

I can only say, it was HUGE and beautiful
with nothing but glass and spectacular views.
Deni and Craig had champagne waiting for us.
And, Matt had a wonderful bottle of wine with
flowers and goodies to eat.
The bedroom was so nice and with a wonderful view.
It was hard to get up in the mornings, you did not
want to leave it.
The balcony was a great place to relax,
play cards and read.
And the sunrises from our balcony were
breath taking.
Deni and Craig gave us the
Grand Hyatt Luau
for an anniversary present.
O.K. we did leave the hotel. Knowing us you might guess
that 'food'........ places to eat wastop on our list.
We of course went to a coupleof 'fancy' places like
The Beach House with the best sunsets.
But, we asked Matt what was
good that the locals go to, so....................
These were some fund and delicious places.

A weird thing happened while we were there.
It turns out Linda's cousin Cookie and her husband
were staying at the Grand Hyatt at the same time
we were, but none of us knew it. They went home
a couple of days before us, learned we were there
and called us. They recommended this place to
eat and it was yummy.
Matt recommended Scotty's for BBQ.
What great food and great view.
And, what does one do for dessert?
You go to Jo Jo's for 60 flavors of shaved ice.
Yes, we decided to do the sightseeing thing
and what a beautiful island.
Part of Waimea Canyon.

Green and water everywhere.

It is all beautiful, but the waterfalls have to be the best.

Then there were mommy and baby
Hawaiian Monk Seals.

We watched them swim in from the ocean and
then sun on the beach.

It was a spectacular water and beach area.

Taylor and his family were here about a year
ago and recommended this cove.
And, it was the 'best' cove around the island.
It reminded me of a natural swimming pool.
We took a few walks to take it all in.
Notice I sad a few.
Gained a pound for every day we were there.
What a relaxing and peaceful place to renew
your love and celebrate the 45 years that we
shared together.
Besides our hotel parrots, there were beautiful
geese, ducks and swans there to enjoy.
This bird and the following are birds
that are indigenous to Kauai.

This mom is looking for her children.

And, there they are.

I am pretty sure this bird is not indigenous. ha
But, they are everywhere!
Well, we showed you our beautiful hotel,
some wonderful sights to look at and
and some fun birds of Kauai. Now it
is time to see the flora of the island
starting here at the Fern Grotto.
The Fern Grotto, like many places on Kauai
was damaged by hurricanes but has grown
back and is beyond words.
Linda said, 'look at how big this leaf is'.

But, we soon found that leaf was small
in comparison.
Bad me, but I don't know the names of the
beautiful flowers we got to see.

Well, it is time to fade into the sunset.

We were lucky............... no rain.

Just beautiful sunrises and gorgeous sunsets.

I added another Harley dealership to
Rich and mine list. ha
